FUTURE PERFECT: A CONVERSATION WITH LEVAR BURTON
Join our distinguished guest speaker, celebrated actor, director, and producer LeVar Burton, for a lively, interactive dialog on the power of imagination and the promise of creating a better educated and more inclusive world.
Our host, Nalo Hopkinson, is an award-winning author and UCR professor of creative writing. She was recently named the 37th Damon Knight Grand Master by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America.
Also visit UCR Writer’s Week (Feb 13 & 16–20, 2021), the longest-running free literary event in California, to explore more about Nalo’s work and to enjoy inspired, thought-provoking readings from UCR’s powerhouse creative writing faculty.

Our powerhouse panel of distinguished higher education thought-leaders features former Chancellors of UC Riverside Timothy P. White, France Córdova, and Raymond L. Orbach.

SUNSHINE IN A GLASS! A CITRUS MIXOLOGY HAPPY HOUR
Time to craft, sip, and savor delicious libations in this one-of-a-kind virtual happy hour. Join members of the UCR Alumni Association, emcee Rickerby Hinds, and special guest Tracy Kahn, for a delightful mix of cocktail demonstrations, alumni trivia, and fun facts about UCR’s world-renowned citrus research.
Participants must be 21 and older.
Our host, UCR Alumni Association Board member, Rickerby Hinds, is a professor of playwriting at UC Riverside. An accomplished playwright, screenwriter, and producer, he is the winner of three NAACP Theatre Awards and host of UCR’s podcast The Creator State.
Our featured speaker, Tracy Kahn, is Curator and Endowed Chair of the UC Riverside Givaudan Citrus Variety Collection.
